National Veterans Service Committee Activities

March 2017

by Nancy De Vito

It's hard to believe that another Elk year is almost past . I would like the congratulate our officers for a job well done, and to all the committees that supported each other for the good of the order.  We had to endure a lot of hardships this year but we as Elks persevered.

Our committee spent Valentine's Day with some of our Best people on earth. That would be Our Veterans at Willow Springs. We provided lunch and handmade bags for them to attach to either their walkers or wheel chairs. Thank You Jenifer Burns for making the bags and making life easier for the Vets.

The Committee assembled Care Packages for the troops. In March we will be assembling more packages and joining us will be a local girl Scout troops that collected 200 boxes of cookies for the troops. God Bless them.

On May 13, 2017 the South East District Veterans Committee will be hosting the annual Mash picnic at The Brick Elks . Time 12:00 till 4:00  Cost- $10.00 each-- free to a Veteran!

We are on Schedule  for our annual Fishing trips for our Vets/military aboard the Ideal
