I hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas and have a Very Healthy New Year.
This year has been the hardest year for all, and I hope things get
better soon. We could not have breakfast this year, so we adopted two
military families.
We received back packs with stuffed animals from the Renaissance
Women’s Club and donated them to the military children. This
wonderful club is also donating a 60inch color TV which we will be
giving to the Air Force for them to raffle for their fund raising to
assist active members in need.
I made my favorite homemade crotched Christmas stockings and filled
them with goodies for Veterans in the nursing home. With donated yarn I
was able to make and donate 200 homemade hats, and 30 scarves to our
homeless Vets.
We sent Christmas and birthday cards to our Vets in Menlo Park and
Willow Springs. A huge thanks to Stephanie Pandolph for always making
sure they receive cards on special days each month.
Santa and I did a virtual storytelling with our military children
thru the USO. We also went on base to make a video of us walking on to
a C17, sitting in the cockpit pretending to have just landed the plane,
and then walking off waving to the children. Inside the building we
wished the children a very Merry Christmas and assured them that Santa
will be at there house for Christmas eve. Santa’s elves have
worked extremely hard this year and his reindeer are all ready for the
flight.
So long as there are Veterans,
the Benevolent & Protective Order of Elks will never forget them!
