doing what we do best and that is helping our Veterans and military. Thank You to Gus Schipani,  Irene Marquis, Julie Edvardsen, Jennifer Burns and Dino Constantino for working at base for the 514 th Freedom Wings family picnic which served 1500 people.  Our Committee donated money towards food. We also donated all the salads for the 108th wings family picnic which was the following day which served up to 1600 people. And let me not forget the 305-family picnic. Antsy the clown worked all three picnic’s face painted hundreds of kids.

Our August fishing trip was the best fishing day for our Vets/military. It was a great day to be out on the water and they had seven keepers.  Thank you to my crew Carol Bernard, and Mike Marquis for helping on the boat. Back at the lodge thank you to Phyliss Willever, Gus Schipani, Regina Mc Cabe and Irene Marquis for helping serve and clean up. They all left the lodge with full bellies of homemade spaghetti, meat balls and sausage, salad and pound cake with strawberries and whipped cream for dessert.

Our Next fishing trip will be Sept. 17th we will be joined by Vets from East Orange Hosp. and Lakewood Rehab. Looking forward to another great day to enjoy the best of the best!

All hands-on deck if you’re an Elk, please step up and lend a hand at the Elk Fest. We need everyone to help even if it’s just a few hrs. it will be a long day and the help will be greatly appreciated. This event helps us keep the doors open. If you happen to not send in your raffle ticket in support of the veteran committee you get a second chance to buy raffle tickets at the Elks fest.

At the last Elk meeting Lt. Col. Thompson presenting our lodge with this beautiful picture of the entire 514 Air Mobility Wing. Lt. Col. Thompson thank you for the presentation and for coming out to show your appreciation.

God Bless America and God Bless our Troops.

So long as there are Veterans,
the Benevolent & Protective Order of Elks will never forget them!
