National Veterans Service Committee Activities

December 2017

by Nancy De Vito

It amazing how fast time flies one minute it's Halloween, in the blink of an eye it’s Thanksgiving, and now it's on to Christmas!

We had the honor and pleasure of celebrating Veterans Day with our special Vets at Willow Springs. Thank you to Matthew and Luke Onifer, David and Eoin DeVito for singing God Bless America for our Veterans, thank you to Point Pleasant Cub Scouts Pack 3 for all the cards they made for the Veterans.  Most of all I want to give a big THANK YOU to my Committee!

Point Pleasant Elks Veterans Committee provided pizza for a gathering of Vietnam Veterans and those dealing with PSTD. Thank you all for your service and getting the info out there to help those who are suffering. They meet once a month. If you know someone that will benefit from Free services let me know and I'll put you in contact with the people in charge.

Our  Veterans Committee will be providing  toys to one Air Force Squadron and five Army Battalions. Santa and Mrs. Claus have their work cut out for them. But will be enjoying every minute. Bringing joy to the children of those how are serving our country is very rewarding. I can't thank my committee enough for all their hard work this year which enables us to bring joy to our Vets and Military. We also will be bring gifts to our Veterans at Willow Springs for Christmas.
On Dec. 15th our Elks will be up very early to cook the Holiday breakfast at JBMDL. A lot of prep work  ahead of us  but we are up to the challenge. And I have the Best volunteers with big hearts.

Thank you to those who supported our Restaurant raffle. Our winner is John Quartararo!

God Bless Peter & Cynthia Kellogg Foundation for your
 continued support of our Veterans/Military

Merry Christmas to All and Happy New Year!

So long as there are Veterans,
the Benevolent & Protective Order of Elks will never forget them!
