National Veterans Service Committee Activities

July 2020

I hope everyone is well and social distancing. It is hard on everyone, but we are all in this together. We need to help each other and do our part to heal our country. Thank you to all the doctors, nurses, first responders’, and essential workers.

I had the restaurant raffle set to go off on May 30 but now I have been trying to get the licenses extending till at least Sept. All I can say is it will happen just not sure when.

It saddens me to say that to date we have lost 27 Veterans at Menlo Park Veterans home and we have also lost Veterans at Willow Springs. Keep in mind the Veterans in nursing homes across our country. Pray for them and their families.

We also have our fishing trips on schedule but not sure if they will be allowed to happen, they may be cancelled as well.

Our baby shower for the military expecting Moms has been postponed until further notice when all is cleared to be able to go on base.

These are scary times for all. When there is clears, perhaps we will be kinder and more caring to all. Elks are known to work together as a unit for the good of all. We all have had our own stress situations and stories. We all have lost people we care about or know. We must pray for them and support their families.

God Bless America and God Bless our Troops.

So long as there are Veterans,
the Benevolent & Protective Order of Elks will never forget them!
