National Veterans Service Committee Activities

February 2019

by Nancy De Vito
Because of the Government shutdown our local Coast Guard personnel are not receiving their pay.  Our lodge is collecting food, gas cards, diapers, wipes etc.   Raising a family comes with many expenses so please keep our Coast Guard families in our prayers and donate money/items to help them get thru these hard times until they get paid. We are also hosting a dinner for the Coast Guard families on Feb.16th.

We are planning a Valentine lunch with our Vets, the date has yet to be decided. But they are looking forward to having our elk’s company.

On. Feb.22 Nancy DeVito and crew will be cooking Friday night dinner so come on down. Crabmeat stuffed shrimp, spaghetti on the side and or chicken franchise with spaghetti, salad, soup and desert.

Come on down you won’t be disappointed!

We are planning our fishing trip for our Vets for June, July, and Aug.

The Veterans Committee will be running our biggest fund raiser of the year. The super 50/50 which will go off on the date of the fluke tournament. Please support our efforts in raising funds to help the veterans/military. We are depending on your support.

Remember we have the same weather as our soldiers serving our country away from there families so please pray for them and never forget those who have served and are serving.

Please be careful driving and stay warm.

God Bless America and God Bless our Troops.

So long as there are Veterans,
the Benevolent & Protective Order of Elks will never forget them!
