National Veterans Service Committee Activities

JANUARY 2020

by Nancy De Vito

I hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas and Have a Happy Healthy New Year. This Holiday season started with the Holiday breakfast at Base which we served up to 500 omelets to order. It was a very early morning but thanks to this fine group of elks & two friends we were a success. Thank You Ellen Veprek for helping us get the Freedom Grant which helped us pull off this wonderful holiday event to thank those who served. Also, to Pat Podesta for making this beautiful American flag Blanket to give to a lucky military soldier. We had retired Veterans there, it was wonderful to see them.

Santa and Mrs. Claus listened to wishes of hundreds of military children. I am so proud to be able to spend time with these children. They are truly special children and Hugs like this make it all worthwhile! It doesn’t get any better. God Bless them all.

I would like the thank Stephanie Pandolph for her dedication on sending not only birthday cards but      Christmas cards to Veterans at Willow Springs and Menlo Park Veterans home. We are looking forward to you getting back on your feet.

God Bless America and God Bless our Troops.

So long as there are Veterans,
the Benevolent & Protective Order of Elks will never forget them!
