Point Pleasant Elks #1698
National Veterans Service Committee
We, the National Veterans Service Committee (NVSC) BPOE #1698 Point Pleasant, NJ, are about a joint committee dedicated to help support America’s Veterans in the most meaning full ways we know. The function of this committee is to help put some fun and enjoyment into as many America’s Veterans lives as we can.
We
support many New Jersey
Veterans in Rehabilitation Centers and hospitals by the 'Adopt-A-Vet
Program’. Each summer we have the
privilege of taking them on three fishing trips each year and are
treated to a
fresh ‘home cooked’ fish dinner, we take them to a
Lakewood Blue Claws baseball
game. Late in the summer we treat them to a large
picnic. To celebrate
Veterans Day we cook them a delicious spaghetti
dinner. At Christmas time we
pay them a visit and present them with gifts and an ‘Adopt
–A-Vet certificate
from each branch of service they were in.
We assist the McGuire Air Force Base ARS at their annual summer picnic by managing and cooking for the military and their families so they can valuable spend time together. During their annual children’s Christmas Party we provide gifts for the children and assist with running the party.
Assist in running the ‘Ted Holmgren Bowling Tournament’ each February to support the ‘Army of Hope’.
